We collect the bare minimum. Here is what, why, and how to exercise your rights.
Data collected
If you sign up for the newsletter: your email address and the site language at sign-up. If you submit an application (director, casting or internship): the application data, detailed in the “Applications and castings” section below. If you request access to the screening room: the data detailed in the “Screening room” section below. If you review a film: the data detailed in the “Reviews” section below. Nothing else.
Purpose
Sending you programme news and letting you know when calls open. The legal basis is your consent, given when you sign up.
Retention period
Three years from your sign-up or your last exchange with us. If you unsubscribe, only your address is kept, as proof that you unsubscribed.
Newsletter
One-click sign-up from the site. One-click unsubscribe from the link in every email. After you unsubscribe, we keep your address only as proof that you unsubscribed, so that nothing more is sent to you; it is deleted on request to contact@letsmakeyourfilm.com. No data is passed on to third parties.
Recipients
Only the Let's Make Your Film team has access. The data is hosted by Hostinger. It is never sold or passed on to third parties.
Applications and castings
Purposes: processing director applications, casting submissions and internship applications, and enabling selection by the committee. Legal basis: your consent, given when you submit your application, in accordance with Algerian Law No. 18-07 of 10 June 2018 on the protection of individuals in the processing of personal data. Data processed: identity, contact details, date of birth, legal guardian for minors, application texts and attached files (script, CV, photos, videos). Retention: applications are kept for 2 years after the call closes. If you opt into the casting profile bank, your profile is kept until you withdraw your consent. Casting profiles outside the profile bank are kept for 2 years after submission. Recipients: the Let's Make Your Film team and the selection jury. Never third parties. Your rights: access, correction and deletion of your application, on request to contact@letsmakeyourfilm.com
Screening room
Purpose: give professionals (festivals, distributors, programmers, press) access to the full films, after Solis Production approves each request. Data processed: identity, email address, organisation, position, reason for the request, films requested, and the viewing log (film, date, time watched, browser). Watermark: during playback, your name, the date and the time are shown as a watermark on the video, to discourage copying. Retention: your account and viewing log are kept for 2 years after your access expires or is revoked. Recipients: the Let's Make Your Film team only. Never third parties. Revocation: your access can be withdrawn at any time, by you on request or by the team. Your rights: access, correction and deletion of your account and viewing log on request to contact@letsmakeyourfilm.com
Reviews
Data collected: your first name, last name, email address, rating, the text of your review, the site language and the date sent. Purpose: publishing your review on the film page after the team has read it, and contacting you about it if needed. What is public: your first name, the initial of your last name, your rating, your text and the date. Your email address and full name are never published. Your rights: you can have your review edited or deleted at any time by simply writing to contact@letsmakeyourfilm.com

Your rights
Under Law No. 18-07 of 10 June 2018 and, if you live in the European Union, the GDPR, you can access, correct or erase your data, object to its processing, restrict its use or request its portability. You can also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority (in Algeria, the ANPDP).
