Algiers, Blida, Sétif, Annaba: in August 2024, four crews shot the first films of Sirine Achir, Aghiles Rebrab, Borhane Cherbal and Inès Daif.

August 2024. Four directors, four films, just one month to shoot them all. Edition 5 of Let's Make Your Film moved from the page to the set, across Algiers, Blida, Sétif and Annaba.

On the slate: Aswat, Sirine Achir's docu-fiction about children born to anonymous mothers and the women who bore them; Soumeya, by Aghiles Rebrab, the portrait of a young woman facing an unexpected pregnancy; Le Reflet, by Borhane Cherbal, about a father, his daughter and a roll of film never developed; L'Être indélébile, by Inès Daif, about a mother consumed by the loss of her daughter in Annaba.

Each shoot lasted about a week, with equipment and logistics provided, volunteer crew members and interns on set. Behind the camera and in front of it, a whole collective showed up.

Next up: editing, colour grading and sound mixing, ahead of a release planned for September 2025. Stay tuned: the premieres are coming.
